Spanish Academic Instruction

These academic Spanish courses are designed to provide a structured, progressive approach to learning Spanish.

We start with Spanish Foundational A: This is start of our journey into learning Spanish as a system. It provides a brief overview of grammar and meta language. Don't worry, it can still be fun. I insist.

Then Spanish Foundational B: In this class we continue the journey we began in Spanish Foundational A. There is more study of Spanish as a system, more meta language, and then we will move to more Spanish specific grammar and vocabulary. Spanish will be the language used in class with plenty of opportunities for interactive learning. Oh yes, this can also be fun.

Spanish I, II, and III Dive into the acclaimed Avancemos series, which forms the backbone of these levels. Students progress through structured lessons that cover foundational grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills:

• Spanish I: Units Preliminar through Unidad 8 provide a comprehensive introduction to Spanish after they have taken the Spanish Foundational classes A and B, or it is determined unnecessary because of previous knowledge. 
• Spanish II and III: Students build on prior knowledge, refining their skills and advancing through progressively complex grammar, vocabulary, and cultural topics after they have taken Spanish I.

Testing and Beyond Testing is a choice. We do not have to test. But it does ensure that learners grasp key concepts and track their progress as they move through these academic levels. The curriculum integrates structured grammar, meta-language, and cultural exploration,
