NextStep Language Terms and Conditions

Welcome to NextStep Language! We’re thrilled to embark on a language journey with you. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, please take a moment to review our Terms and Conditions.

1. Introduction

We are NextStep Language Classes.
These Terms and Conditions are designed to ensure that classes run smoothly and without misunderstandings.
Agreeing to these Terms and Conditions is a prerequisite for participating in our classes.

2. Service Description

We currently offer story-based and academic French, German, Spanish, and English classes.
We also provide writing services, including—but not limited to—editing and support for academic or creative writing.

Our classes are available as:

  • One-on-one lessons
  • Family sessions
  • Small group classes

Unless otherwise agreed upon, sessions are not recorded.
Student prerequisites depend on the class and on the learner).
All lessons are conducted live on Zoom.

3. Registration & Account Information

At this time, there is no need to create an account.
The sign-up process will be clarified on our website or upon inquiry.

4. Payments & Pricing

  • Payments are made via PayPal.
  • Pricing may be based on individual lessons, packages, or semesters.

Course Registration and Payment

  • Payment must be received at least seven (7) days before the course begins.
  • If you need alternative payment arrangements due to financial hardship, please contact us—we’re happy to discuss flexible options.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Full refunds are available only if cancellation is requested at least 5 days before the course start date.
  • If a student withdraws after the course begins, no refund will be issued. However, credits for future courses may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
  • If NextStep must cancel or reschedule a class, an alternative time will be offered, or a refund may be issued if no suitable time can be found.

6. Missed Classes and Rescheduling

  • If you must miss a class, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • One make-up session is allowed per course, based on instructor availability.
  • No-shows without prior notice are not eligible for rescheduling.

7. Technology & Platform Requirements

  • Students are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and having the required software (e.g., Zoom).
  • NextStep Language is not liable for technical issues on the student’s end.

8. Repeated Absences

We understand that life can be unpredictable.
If you need to reschedule more than twice, please reach out so we can discuss alternative solutions.
Regular attendance is essential, as each class builds on the previous one.

9. Class Etiquette

To support a respectful and productive environment:

  • Conduct: All participants are expected to engage respectfully.
  • Camera Use: Please keep your camera on during class, unless agreed otherwise.
  • Active Participation: Active involvement improves the learning experience for everyone.

10. Assessment

Assessment is based on participation and completion of assigned work.
The final outcome will be either:

  • Yes, the learner is ready to move on to the next semester.
  • No, the learner is not yet ready to move on.

11. Code of Conduct

  • All students must communicate respectfully and avoid disruptive behavior.
  • Attendance and participation are expected.
  • Failure to comply with conduct expectations may result in suspension from classes.

12. Intellectual Property & Content Usage

  • Class materials are the property of NextStep Language.
  • Students may not record, share, or resell class content without written permission.
  • Any recordings made by NextStep will only be used with prior consent and will remain confidential.

13. Privacy & Data Protection

  • We collect only essential personal information (e.g., name, email, class history).
  • Data is stored securely and never shared with third parties.
  • We are committed to complying with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR.

14. Limitation of Liability

  • While we aim to provide high-quality instruction, we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes.
  • We are not responsible for technical issues on the student’s end or other disruptions beyond our control.

15. Force Majeure

In the case of unavoidable disruptions (e.g., natural disasters, emergencies, or power outages), affected sessions will be rescheduled.
If disruptions occur repeatedly, students may opt for private sessions or receive course credit.

16. Termination of Services

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to classes if a student:

  • Violates the code of conduct
  • Consistently misses sessions without notice

17. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

Disputes will be addressed through informal resolution first, followed by mediation or legal action if needed.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which NextStep Language is registered.

18. Amendments & Updates

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions.
Students will be notified in advance of any significant changes.
